Sumrell Sugg is excited to welcome back Nathan Liland as the firm’s 2024 Summer Associate. Nathan is a New Bern native who just finished his second year of law school at Campbell University’s School of Law. Throughout his time at Campell Law, Nathan has been an avid moot court team member, participating in competitions and mock arguments at the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, the Buffalo, New York, City Court, and the North Carolina Supreme Court. Nathan also serves as a Fellow with the American Bar Association Legal Education Police Practices Consortium, where he is a part of a nationwide team of students examining legal issues in policing and public safety.
Nathan will be working closely with Sumrell Sugg attorneys in a variety of the firm’s practice areas. His areas of interest are municipal law, construction law, and civil litigation, which he will have an opportunity to engage in throughout the firm’s summer associate program.
