Sumrell Sugg Attorney Presents On Ethics To Newly-Elected Officials

Tom Lewis

Sumrell Sugg partner Dave Baxter presented an ethics training to a group of local government officials at the Eastern Carolina Council of Governments in New Bern, N.C.  The 2-hour ethics training is required by state law within 12 months of a public official’s election. The training covers topics like conflicts of interest and state and federal gifting laws.

Dave is the only tri-County attorney in the State, representing Pamlico, Jones, and Lenoir Counties.  He is also the Town Attorney for the Towns of River Bend, Pollocksville, Grantsboro and Vandemere. Dave has over a decade of practice experience in municipal law and works with Sumrell Sugg’s municipal clients on a variety of legal issues, including the adoption of their statutorily required code of ethics.
