Trey Ferguson argues before State Court of Appeals

Sumrell Sugg Associate Trey Ferguson participated in oral arguments before the North Carolina Court of Appeals recently.  The case, Town of La Grange v. Lenoir County, et al., involved questions of statutory construction related to the County’s zoning ordinance and a private landowner’s proposed use of its property under the same.  Trey represents municipal clients across the state in various litigation matters as part of the firm’s insurance defense practice group.

Lenoir County Attorney and Sumrell Sugg Partner, David Baxter, was also counsel of record for the case and appeared for oral arguments with Trey.  David and Trey both work in Sumrell Sugg’s local government practice group and do an extensive amount of work on land use issues for the firm’s clients.

The case has been reported on by The Carolina Journal and the oral arguments can be heard on the Court’s YouTube channel
